Aracne ARACNE is a dance and music piece inspired by Tarantism, a form of trance present in Southern Italy from ancient times till the ’70. At those times a women, bitten by the tarantula spider, would dance rhythmically for hours in order to get the poison out of her blood. A little orchestra was accompaining her (tambourine, accordion, and violin) and her small house would become the scene of a colorful rite where she becomes one with the spider and then slowly comes back to her self, and by stepping fasterand faster she wpuld kill the tarantula. Tarantism was a self made cure against isteria and repression. It has been repressedby religion and partly substituted by pills...but is feminine isteria really over? Where did it end up?

Cool Memories (in memoriam Jean Baudrillard) dance: Kathleen Delaney "Dialogue between the accordion and the dance steps, lightness of kisses and a gun - held when looking around. Words of light on the walls for the death of reality, and the illusion of the world, the void which gives strenght.Star ways turning around, stars made of light. In "Cool Memories" dance, thoughts, the rich musical research and images create a voluminous atmosphere of cured theatrality."

RoadRunner dance: Kathleen Delaney "A funambolic, contamined piece, full of quotations running on the thread of Basquiat's paintings, the american painter who used the canvas for graffiti, master of quoting and contaminating art in the New York '80. Music, graphics and dance are notes stolen from a crazy world on a multicolored notebook." Daniela Boari, Musicultura On Line, feb. 2004
.""Kathleen Delaney's performance refuses any temptation of sublimity and pushes on irony...contamination between languages but also contamination inside the language of dance itself lowered by materials such as clownerie, pantomime and improvisation. The piece has a video projection where pop images and metropolitan paintings offer a multeplicity of possible events and micro-dramas. Claudio Jacomucci is on stage with a larger role then that of musician. The accordion becomes a character itself and dilogues with the body and the voice of Ms Delaney: making fun one of the other in a funny respiration."
